Gnosis was founded in 1989 by a group of technicians to provide a reliable source of scientific and technological services to meet the growing demand for high technology and quality in bioindustries and chemical processes.Through a strong knowledge in the biotechnology application.Gnosis S.p.a has specialized in the Research & Development of innovative processes of selection and isolation of microorganisms,manufacturing and sales of fermentation raw materials and natural finished products used in the pharmaceutical,nutraceutical,cosmetic,veterinary,and agricultural industries;Gnosis also maintains tight collaboration with some of the major Italian Universities and certain foreign Universities,which grants continuous progress in all those state-of-the-art technologies aimed at developing new highly productive strains.

Gnosis operates in two world class facilities for research & development and manufacturing.The site in Desio(Milan,Italy) is a brand new 2.000 square meters R&D centre Which is equipped with state-of-the-art research equipment and instrumentation.There are 16 pilot fermenters with capacities ranging between 5 and 300 litres,chromatographic columns and dryers;all representing a significant investment in resources by Gnosis in order to guarantee high quality and innovative products.The 24.000 square meters pharmaceutical cGMP and Kosher approved manufacturing plant in Sant'Antonino(Bellinzona,Switzerland)known as Gnosis BioResearch has 4 fermenters having 150m3 of fermentation capacity,where all operations including downstream processing are carried out.
